Last Saturday I had the honor of photographing a fantastic couple – Jen and Drew.
Their wedding is coming up this summer and since New York is a special place for them
we decided that it would be a perfect place to make some images! It was a real treat spending the day with them.
Here is a few of my favorites!
(Hey guys, I couldn’t pick just one! Wait until you see the rest of them!)

Mansfield Center, CT
It’s Memorial Day. I feel sad today.
I went to my town parade this morning. I heard Amber Hoyt speak to all of us in the cemetery where her brother was buried. She is 16. Her brother was killed by a road side bomb in Iraq 3 years ago. She wears his army cap. She speaks about him everywhere to keep his memory alive. We all cried.

The cemetery in Mansfield Center.
Then another young beautiful young man was introduced – they said he was leaving in a month to go fight in Iraq!
I don’t believe in war, especially this one. I also have two teenage sons and I fear for them.
Please, let us all do what we can to stop this war and every other war. The whole idea of war should be banished from our minds.
Here is my son, marching today. He plays the drums.

Have a good day.

I would like to share with you my experience this week that reminded me how important it is to step outside your world for awhile and learn what others are doing. I find that running a small business by myself can be so time consuming that I need to get away from ‘me’ and my own stuff so I can gain a new perspective.
I was a volunteer at the Greater Hartford Women’s Conference on Wednesday. I met some amazing women and was astounded at how much creativity, knowledge and passion is all around us if we only stop and notice. There are people who make a living helping others create and bring their businesses to success; others who are healers and have created businesses around their knowledge of herbs, massage therapy and essential oils; others in traditional financial or insurance; some have created business prepping meals for busy households; photographers like me; medical professionals; life coaches; you name it – women in Connecticut are doing it!
I struck up a conversation with Anne, from Ridgefield, a realtor. In the short 15 minute conversation with her, we managed to share so much, our struggles and even our vision.
All of us women gathered like a tribe, coming together to get to know each other, connect in some way, share information, support each other and DREAM about what we wanted to accomplish in our lives. It was a great day.
I knew very few people as I walked in the door, yet, I left feeling that I was not alone out here, and the email follow ups are still coming and going.
If you can, mark it on your calendar for next Spring. It will be worth going.
I’ll see you there.

I had the privledge to spend part of an afternoon last weekend with
Amy and Andrew. We went to beautiful Wickham Park just outside
Manchester, CT, where we made some engagement images.
Here are just a few of my favorites!

You both are such terrific people and throughly enjoyed getting to know you.
(I’m glad non of us fell in the pond!)

I can’t wait until your June wedding and I am honored to share in your special day.

Anna and Hal were married last Saturday, the 26th of April. They could not have asked for better weather, not too hot or cold, with sunshine and a gentle breeze.
They were married in Storrs, CT in the historic Congregational church on the UConn campus. This is the same church that Anna’a parents and grandparents were married – it was such a special day!
