Getting married in 2012? 2013? Research is key to finding the wedding professionals who will help you create the wedding day of your dreams. There are many websites and blogs that will list vendors in your area with reviews and images of their work. To name a few, WeddingWire, Wedding Reports, GetMarried, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings and the list goes on. Depending on the style of wedding you are planning it is helpful to look for vendors that have that ‘ feel’ you are going for.
Now is the time to make a short list of vendors for 2012 weddings, and get out there and meet face to face. Meet ups are more than just exchanging information as you can get a feel for the person who you will be communicating with AND spending hours with on your wedding day. My recommendation: find the people you are comfortable with and actually like. Usually the rest will fall into place.
Check back as I will be posting about some of my favorite wedding vendor colleagues that I love working with and that you might consider for your wedding.
This beautiful centerpiece above was created by Melissa at Stylish Blooms who I highly recommend if you are looking for fresh beautiful bouquets and centerpieces.

I know it is rather traditional and maybe out of date to some minds.. but this kind image is a favorite of mine. I love the uniqueness of each hand; the contrast and the details. Hands have always been a favorite photographic subject of mine. When I studied fine art at UConn, I made a book (by hand) filled with photographs called, “Hands at Work”. These were dentists, artists, a baker, a mechanic, etc. Hands in themselves can tell the story of the person or persons they belong to. What does this image say to you? Please leave your thoughts, I would love to know.

I had the honor of photographing the Wedding of Lauren and Anthony at the Waterview in Monroe, CT. It was a lovely ceremony which was held inside due to the wet weather. The ceremony room and reception tables were beautifully decorated with flowers by Elizabeth of Blush Floral Design.
I loved this special moment between Lauren and her mother just before the ceremony.
Lauren wore an amazing dress which looked comfortable and gorgeous!
…..and Tony looked great as well.
After the ceremony and formal photos, Lauren returned wearing these shoes and a cute short dress for the party!
Anthony changed his shoes as well!

Congratulations to Lauren and Tony! AND a thank you to Jean Molodetz for her help as second photographer. Your images speak volumes, and I look forward to working together again soon.
