Welcome to Connecticut PhotoJourneys. Come learn on location in the beautiful and diverse state of Connecticut, side by side with professional photographers to help you excel with your photography skills. A series of classes of varied lengths and topics will be offered throughout the year. If you would like to schedule your own private PhotoJourney for yourself, with your club, committee or group, please talk to Kim and she would be happy to work with you.
These classes are geared toward amateurs, hobbyists and students of digital photography. They are small in size in order to give personal attention to each student. 2009 Class Schedule:
Natural Light Seminar - April 19, 12-5pm, $79
- This class is a basic class to teach the basics of proper exposure and how to use your camera on MANUAL MODE. We will meet at the Mansfield Community Center in Mansfield/Storrs for the classroom portion, then we will use the beautiful UConn campus to practice our new learned skills. Afternoon snack will be provided by the Nathan Hale Inn on campus.

Travel Photography: Making Your Vacation Images Better Than Ever! May 31, Sunday, 2:30-9pm $119 per person (includes CT tax)
- This class will meet in Stonington Borough, one of the oldest towns in Connecticut. It is a picturesque setting with cobblestone streets and historic homes, beautiful doors and gardens, quaint shops and restaurants, a harbor and beach, shorebirds and more. Dinner at Noah’s Restaurant is included. After dinner we will photograph in the “sweet light” before sundown, then it’s off to Mystic for a short night shoot. We will simulate a day on vacation, or a travel assignment. Capture all aspects of what makes Stonington the special destination that it is, learn more about digital photography’s technical and artistic aspects so that you can improve your skills for your summer vacation or travels. You will need a working digital camera, your camera manual (if you need help with your camera), comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing.

Elizabeth Park Rose Garden – June 28, Sunday, 6:30-dusk, $79 (plus CT tax)
- Come photograph one of the most beautiful rose gardens in full bloom. There is also more than just roses in this park, however, at this time of the year the roses will steal the show! Come learn some techniques that will allow you paint with color and light with your camera. We can even practice our portraiture skills amidst the blooms in the beautiful evening light.
- Any working digital camera will do, but one that can operate in Manual Mode is suggested.

City Scapes – Hartford; Sept. 20, Sun. 2-6 pm $119+tax

This Journey will take place in downtown Hartford. We will explore the urban landscape and its wide range of photographic possibilities – panoramas to urban details; portrait settings and the natural beauty of Bushnell Park. Snacks will be provided.
