Gorgeous Wedding Dresses!

by Kim Bova on January 27, 2012

Often brides ask about the dresses they see in my portfolio when they meet with me regarding my wedding services.  Here are a couple of dresses that have attracted some attention from brides who are still loooking for that perfect dress.  I thought I would share what I know about them because it may be helpful.   This dress was a Maggie Sottero design, it has beautiful details and flowing lines.  Here is a look at the back.

This dress, below, is a Tara Keely design.   I believe she found it at Mariella’s Attic in Rocky Hill.  Good luck finding your dream dress!

Looking for Your Wedding Vendors?

by Kim Bova on January 22, 2012

Getting married in 2012? 2013?  Research is key to finding the wedding professionals who will help you create the wedding day of your dreams.  There are many websites and blogs that will list vendors in your area with reviews and images of their work.  To name a few, WeddingWire, Wedding Reports, GetMarried, The Knot, Martha Stewart Weddings and the list goes on.  Depending on the style of wedding you are planning it is helpful to look for vendors that have that ‘ feel’ you are going for.

Now is the time to make a short list of vendors for 2012 weddings, and get out there and meet face to face.  Meet ups are more than just exchanging information as you can get a feel for the person who you will be communicating with AND spending hours with on your wedding day.  My recommendation: find the people you are comfortable with and actually like.  Usually the rest will fall into place.

Check back as I will be posting about some of my favorite wedding vendor colleagues that I love working with and that you might consider for your wedding.  :-) This beautiful centerpiece above was created by Melissa at Stylish Blooms who I highly recommend if you are looking for fresh beautiful bouquets and centerpieces.

A Favorite Image.

by Kim Bova on January 14, 2012

I know it is rather traditional and maybe out of date to some minds.. but this kind image is a favorite of mine.  I love the uniqueness of each hand; the contrast and the details.  Hands have always been a favorite photographic subject of mine.  When I studied fine art at UConn, I made a book (by hand)  filled with photographs called, “Hands at Work”.   These were dentists, artists, a baker, a mechanic, etc.   Hands in themselves can tell the story of the person or persons they belong to.  What does this image say to you?  Please leave your thoughts, I would love to know.
